Does the institution host a food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource focused on alleviating food insecurity, hunger and poverty among students?:
Yes
A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
While the food pantry is still relatively new to DePauw’s campus (est. 2019), the project has already grown leaps and bounds. Within the small room that it occupies, there are cans of soup, cereal, snack foods, and even an array of donated books.
The Food Pantry is located in the Center for Spiritual Life, which students can access by key card from 6am to 1am. All students are welcome to give or take from the food pantry freely, no questions asked.
Most of the donations have come from students and faculty. A food donation drive has been held at the end of each semester since the inception of the pantry (December 2018, May 2019, and December 2019).
