A brief description of how the institution ensures that its lowest-paid workers (including contractors, if applicable) receive sustainable compensation:
DePauw University offers a minimum wage of $10.33 an hour with insurance, long/short-term disability, sick time and vacation. Thirty percent of wages go toward benefits and most years salaries are increased.
Insurance premiums are higher for higher salaries. The university has an articulated plan used as a benchmark to ensure accessibility and affordability to all people.
DePauw also seeks to ensure salary equity between genders. On a regular basis, we compare our salaries to other schools, to our community, and internal equity. These comparisons are based on gender and experience.
