The University currently uses CarGill's ClearLane enhanced de-icer, which is Sodium Chloride mixed with Magnesium Chloride. The product stipulates: "Ecotoxicity: No definitive information is available on environmental impact if product is released to the environment. Prevent contamination of ground water and surface water."
