A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive experience(s) offered by the institution:
DePauw University regularly leads a Winter Term In Service (WTIS) January trip to Costa Rica as an immersive sustainability/conservation experience. A group of between 18-20 students led by two faculty or staff work with local communities on sustainable agriculture projects and sea turtle habitat restoration or patrolling. This trip focuses on environmental, economic and social aspects of sustainability. Also, in the last two years, DePauw has offered an intensive, immersive Winter Term trip to Hawaii that focuses totally on sustainability topics/issues.
