Has the institution conducted a GHG emissions inventory within the previous three years that includes all Scope 1 and 2 emissions? :
Yes

A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:

Denison collects data from utility bills and uses conversion factors provided by the US EPA for our region to determine GHG emissions. In addition, Denison utilizes the SIMAP GHG calculator as a comparison. For this report and other official reporting we use SIMAP data.

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
Yes

A brief description of the GHG inventory verification process:

The Sustainability Committee operates independently of the Office of Sustainability and Facilities Services. This entity validates and verifies this data which is shared with them by Facilities Services.

Documentation to support the GHG inventory verification process:
---

Gross Scope 1 GHG emissions, performance year:
Weight in MTCO2e
Stationary combustion 6,664.45 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Other sources (mobile combustion, process emissions, fugitive emissions) 208.61 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Total gross Scope 1 GHG emissions, performance year:
6,873.06 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Gross Scope 2 GHG emissions, performance year (market-based):
Weight in MTCO2e
Imported electricity 6,191.92 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Imported thermal energy 0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Total gross Scope 2 GHG emissions, performance year:
6,191.92 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Gross GHG emissions from biogenic sources, performance year:
0 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Does the GHG emissions inventory include Scope 3 emissions from the following sources?:
Yes or No Weight in MTCO2e
Business travel Yes 70.24 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Commuting Yes 1,385.38 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Purchased goods and services Yes 24.06 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Capital goods --- ---
Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 --- ---
Waste generated in operations Yes 386.98 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent
Other sources --- ---

Total Scope 3 GHG emissions, performance year:
1,866.66 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

A brief description of how the institution accounted for its Scope 3 emissions:

Scope 3 emissions are tracked numerous ways. For business air travel, we take the dollars spent annually on university purchased travel and convert to CO2e using SIMAP. We track waste through our normal operations. For commuting, we do periodic surveys regarding how employees get to work and then use average distance to campus (~11 miles) and SIMAP's formulas to generate CO2e.

Has the institution completed an inventory within the previous three years to quantify its air pollutant emissions?:
No

Annual weight of emissions for::

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) ---
Sulfur oxides (SOx) ---
Carbon monoxide (CO) ---
Particulate matter (PM) ---
Ozone (O3) ---
Lead (Pb) ---
Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) ---
Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs) ---
