A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
Denison has an ongoing relationship with the Village of Granville Planning Office to work toward development of greener zoning ordinances and community planning that includes access to green spaces and multi-purpose pathways.
Denison partnered with Granville Township to develop new zoning ordinances to allow for the adoption of solar pv in the township for both residential and commercial systems.
Denison faculty and students in the ENVS program worked with the Village of Granville to evaluate the Village's comprehensive plan and to develop a framework to "green" the plan during its next review (currently happening).

Denison teamed with Oberlin, Wooster and Kenyon to pen a letter from their respective presidents to Gov. Mike Dewine of Ohio in support of clean energy policy. This came at a time when Ohio was debating the elimination of clean energy subsidies in lieu of favoring coal and gas derived power.
