Denison is a member of the The Global Liberal Arts Alliance - an international partnership of colleges and universities advancing liberal arts education within the contexts of its member institutions. The Alliance fosters a community of institutional leaders, faculty, staff, and students to address the pressing intellectual, social, political, educational and cultural issues of the highly globalized twenty-first century.
The Alliance fulfills its mission by:
Strengthening the ability of our liberal arts institutions to operate effectively and globally; and,
Facilitating global course, curricular, co-curricular connections and scholarly activities among our institutions, and the mobility of students, faculty, staff, and leadership within the Alliance network. https://liberalartsalliance.org.
Many of the course and program offerings focus on the Grand Challenge which includes issues of climate change. https://gcgh.grandchallenges.org
Denison also maintains and operates the Homestead. The Homestead is a living-learning experience unique among American colleges and universities. It is a student-run intentional community with a focus on ecological sustainability. Twelve students per semester live and work together in pursuit of a more ecologically sustainable lifestyle. Homesteaders also work to promote their projects, lifestyle, and ideals to non-members. Homesteaders must take the Homestead Seminar each semester they live there that incorporates a specific learning projects that enhances the Homestead community. https://denison.edu/campus/homestead
