A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
De La Salle Lipa with its strong commitment to sustainability has put firmly into the core of its strategy the drive towards green energy. The Green Energy-Green Schools initiative is De La Salle Lipa’s drive to shift to a low-carbon community by promoting clean, renewable energy and adapting energy efficiency practices.
Since 2017, when De La Salle Lipa crafted the Power and Energy Roadmap it has continuously embarked on a journey to reduce its carbon footprint and negative impact on the environment through its various sustainable and energy-efficient initiatives. The institution has sustained its strategic partnership with First-Gen Energy Development Corporation, supplying it with a geothermal source of energy. Presently, De La Salle Lipa’s electricity supply is 80% renewable.
Alongside this initiative and action are De La Salle Lipa’s future sustainable aspirations to be more energy-efficient in its operations and look for other renewable energy options, as the institution knows that being energy efficient and using renewable energy is a leverage in a highly unstable energy market.

Second Point of Distinction
A brief description of the second program/initiative/accomplishment:
De La Salle Lipa is committed to reducing plastic waste on campus by implementing several key initiatives. First, the school banned single-use PET bottled water and beverages. Additionally, all stakeholders are encouraged to bring their own water containers and use the water hydration and drinking fountains available throughout the campus. The use of Polysterine (Styrofoam) products has also been prohibited.
To promote these changes, “Conserving is Cool” campaign posters have been displayed across the campus and shared digitally through the school’s official social media channels. Furthermore, a comprehensive campus policy provides guidelines for campus concessionaires, emphasizing the reduction of single-use plastic and the adoption of sustainable alternatives.
