A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:

As early as May 2016, DE LA SALLE LIPA (DLSL) anchored its mission-vision, among others, to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and set one of its strategic directions to Creating Sustainable Futures, its commitment to environmental sustainability and reduction of carbon emissions. This has empowered the institution to shift close to 80% of its power mix from conventional sources to clean/renewables starting the Academic Year 2017-2018.

As a first step, in 2017, the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) EPIRA Law requirements for Retail & Open Access to Electricity Consumers, the school engaged with an independent power producer with a bias towards renewable sources.

To date, almost 80% of the school's electricity is from certified renewables, specifically, from geothermal sources under a Filipino-owned company, FirstGen-Energy Development Corporation, through its Bacman Geothermal Plant.

The school has backup diesel Generators Systems that supply electricity during power outages from the local electricity grid.

The 20% other sources were an undetermined electricity supply that was supplied in the area by the accredited distribution utility(DU), BATELEC II. The power mix comes from various sources as mentioned by the distribution utility.
