The GIF is part of the institution’s administrative mitigation efforts towards sustainable environmental protection. This is also the school’s remediation measures to offset its carbon emissions to jump-start and sustain "green" projects.
Purpose:
- To establish an orderly method of providing adequate funding for the disposal of various waste resulting from the cleanup of solid waste, hazardous waste, and other special wastes.
- To establish funding for renewable and other 'green' energy projects of the institution.
- To establish funding to support other third-party organizations with DLSL affiliation in their environmental mitigation projects such as, but not limited to, tree planting. coastal cleanup, and support for LIFE (Lasallian Institute For the Environment) projects.
- To support adequate environmental review, long-term planning, environmental monitoring, and other pro-environmental projects of the DLSL.
Sources:
- Proceeds from the sale of surplus equipment and scrap materials. including but not limited to white elephant sale, sale of PET bottles, sale of used paper, sale of scrap steel.
- Proceeds from the sale of any item produced from the MRF (Materials Recovery Facility) like compost/fertilizer.
- Donations/grants from other counterpart institutions and third-party entities that support pro-environmental programs.

Gardening supplies such as but not limited to plants, grass, propagating bags. pots, garden soil, horse manure, and insecticides.

Related expenses during coastal clean up, tree planting, and other pro-environmental activities in local, regional and national levels.

Token and food for the quests from DLSL affiliated organizations.

Repairs and maintenance of MRF and Hazardous Waste Facility, repair of equipment and machineries for the management and disposal of solid and hazardous waste.
