De La Salle Lipa with its commitment and drive towards sustainability launched last June 2024 the In-Service Training (INSET) Sustainability Talks for faculty and staff. For its initial salvo, the 2-day event features resource speakers with extensive experience and knowledge about Sustainability. The first session covers topics about the various environmental challenges and concerns that we have in the present and how they affect the community in general. It also highlighted several organizations that are conducting environmental awareness and action programs. The second talk showcased the various Sustainability initiatives of the campus such as the waste management policies, our renewable energy adoption, and simple practices to be sustainable both at home and at work. It also reviewed the impact of the De La Salle Lipa Sustainable initiatives on the institution and the community in general and highlighted how DLSL inspired other educational institutions in Batangas to do the same.
The Lasallian partners were then made to commit to sustainable pledges thereafter. These sustainability talks and training were provided to strengthen the sustainability skills and awareness of the Lasallian partners.
This coming October, speakers from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and De La Salle University will give lecture series about Weather and Human Activities that the Research Management and Coordination Office (RMCO), the institution’s research office will facilitate. This will also be the first of the Sustainability Lecture Series that they will facilitate for the Lasallian partners.

The Pollution Control Training provided by the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) is essential for ensuring that environmental regulations are met and maintained by industries. It equips pollution control officers and environmental managers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively monitor, manage, and mitigate pollution in their respective organizations. This training helps in understanding compliance with local and international environmental standards, which is crucial for preventing legal penalties and fostering sustainable practices. By staying informed about the latest technologies and methods for pollution control, participants can implement more efficient and effective strategies to minimize environmental impact. Ultimately, this training supports the broader goal of protecting public health and preserving natural resources for future generations.
This Pollution Control training is also mandatory for all the Pollution Control Officers of an institution in compliance with the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 (RA 8749) and the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004 (RA 9275).
