Student sustainability research incentives
A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
The CAPSTONE RESEARCH INITIATIVES of DLSL Lipa tasks faculty and students to apply knowledge and skills acquired from program courses to address prevalent problems or issues in the society. Priorities of which are those that fall under the 17 UN SDGs with application of the institution’s Social Innovation Fundamentals (SIF).
Ideally CAPSTONE Research should be interdisciplinary by trying to make social science disciplines to interact with others and not simply that different forms of expertise contribute discretely to understanding or solving a problem. Moreover, the priority for implementation under the CAPSTONE RESEARCH INITIATIVES is to give students experiential opportunities to learn in real world contexts and develop skills in community engagement, while providing community partners the opportunities to address significant needs for the purpose of creating new and better ways to live (Social Innovations) and that which supports social transformations.
Faculty sustainability research incentives
A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:
The sustainability research program at De La Salle Lipa is an important element of the institution’s commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing global challenges. All Partners are expected or encouraged to engage in research activities aligned with intuitional goals and the UN-SDGs. To support these efforts, the Research Management and Coordination Office (RMCO) provides guidelines and policies disseminated through various channels.
Research Proposals must align with DLSL’s core strategic priorities and UN-SDG. These proposals are subjected to a double-blind peer review to ensure quality and potential impact. Successful proposals qualify for DLSL Research Grants, which include honorarium, research budget, conference and publication support, and cash incentives.
The RMCO likewise ensures that all research activities adhere to ethical standards, reinforcing DLSL’s commitment to responsible and impactful research.

Library support
A brief description of the institution’s library support for sustainability research:
The De La Salle Lipa Learning Resource Center (DLSL LRC) evolved to contribute to the institution’s vision and mission to sustain research and learning. There is a presence of digital content and equitable physical and online resources so that researchers will be more engaged in the many facets of students' learning, enhance faculty teaching, scholarly research, and connection with external groups. The Librarians play key roles to support research and learning through collaboration and knowledge-creation.
The DLSL LRC provides resources in the different areas of discipline to support research and CAPSTONE initiatives, life-long learning, and scholarship of Lasallian Partners. A collection development policy is being followed to assure the evidence-based and demand-driven acquisition of resources and the title by title purchase and subscription packages.
There is also increased digital access through the digitization process. The Library’s Discovery Service (LibDS) which is the LRC platform is integrated with the students and LaSallian Partners learning management system to easily navigate their research needs. Moreover, user-friendly online reference, information services and information literacy programs/modules are available to promote discovery and learning, thus improving sustainable research.
