A brief description of the incentive program(s):

The Center for Education for Social Innovation or social innovation lab, is a collaborative and interdisciplinary space focused on addressing social challenges and driving positive social change. It serves as a platform for Lasallian partners, faculty, students, organizations, and communities to come together, explore innovative solutions, and create sustainable social impact through education.

Key functions and services of Center for Education for Social Innovation:

 - Training and Capacity Building: Offers training programs, workshops, and events to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty, individuals and organizations involved in Education for Social Innovation. They focus on building capacity in areas of designing effective learning experiences, creating engaging multimedia content, and implementing instructional strategies that incorporate social innovations.

- Collaboration and Co-Creation: Facilitates collaboration among diverse stakeholders, especially faculty and students to encourage co-creation and the exchange of ideas, expertise, and resources in the area of social innovation 

- Learning Resource Facility: Offers resources to better understand social challenges and identify effective strategies and solutions. 

- Advocacy and Policy Influence: Advocates policy changes and influences decision-making processes to create an enabling environment for social innovation.

 


A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Social Innovation Champions

Assignment: Lasallian Academic Teaching Partner with 9 units deloading equivalent

Reports to: Knowledge and Innovation Director

Coordinates with: Academic Administration

Social Innovation Champions refer to Lasallian Partners leading the school in driving positive change by promoting and implementing innovative solutions to address social and ethical challenges through education. SI Champs are dedicated to identifying and addressing societal needs through creative and sustainable solutions in the education sector and through the design and delivery of education. The role of an SI Champ is assigned to a Lasallian Teaching Partner by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics every year and shall carry a 9-unit load.
