Carbon Neutral Golf Tournament-2023

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Dawson's 2023 Golf Tournament was declared a Carbon Neutral event for the second. Students worked with formulas developed in association with Ecometrica Inc. to analyze all participant travel, meals that day and energy use of the building to create a GHG emission total for the tournament. The total was announced and offset by sponsors.

Dawson's board of governors unanimous vote to declare the college Carbon Neutral Forever applies to every future year of operations and includes any future expansion of Dawson activities and the physical campus. We challenge other colleges in the Quebec network to follow with their own declarations and help with meetings or workshops to review our process, funding and awareness campaigns related to carbon responsible operation.
