A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

In partnership with Preparatory Tres Marias in Morelos, Mexico, Dawson Electronic Technology students designed, built and tested what was needed to create the first solar-powered, off-grid radio station a small town has had in rural Mexico. Students in Mexico build an adobe shelter to house the radio station. Dawson students were challenged to receive the first radio broadcast 15 weeks later and this project demonstrated what students could do when focused on helping others. The radio station will continue to interview local residents to build on traditional knowledge.
