A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

Courses from the college course calendar were obtained from the registrar's office for the academic year 2018-19. The content was placed in an excel sheet format by our IT department and then key search words representing the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals or Earth Charter were used to isolate the course descriptions to be reviewed. This was done by a contracted outside consultant. Interviews with teachers from various programs about their sustainability content demonstrated that some course descriptions were dated and did not reflect the sustainability content of various teachers interviewed. This is a challenge that needs to be addressed. The results reflect the course descriptions as they existed in 2018-19, unless a teacher came to the sustainability office with their course outline and demonstrated their sustainability content. This only represented 3 courses, as no communication went out publicly to change course outline descriptions.
AASHE guidelines were used as per the STARS 2.1 indicator sustainability course or sustainability-related course guidelines.
The sustainability office worked with the registrar's office and the external consultant to document results.
