The AASHE Hub includes 39 presentations of Dallas College sustainability initiatives by students, faculty and staff.

Dallas College's Office of Sustainability supports student leadership in local and international sustainability networks. Several students serve on the leadership committee and special topic committees of RCE North Texas and RCE Americas. Students have also participated in co-presenting college sustainability initiatives at internal and external events.

The Senior Director of Sustainability, Georgeann Moss, has served on the Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability (an AASHSE affiliate) Executive Committee for three years.


Does the institution have an ongoing mentoring relationship with another institution through which it assists the institution with its sustainability reporting and/or the development of its sustainability program?:
Yes

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:

Dallas College's Senior Director of Sustainability participated in the AASHE Mentorship Program, serving as mentor for Valencia College's Sustainability Director. Dallas College Assistant Director of Sustainability Operations participates in the AASHE Mentorship Program, serving as a mentee with Appalachian State University's Chief Sustainability Officer.

As mentioned above, the Senior Director of Sustainability for Dallas College serves on the TRACS Executive Committee. TRACS members assist each other in sharing best practices and lessons learned for all sustainability challenges including leadership development and mentoring. Dallas College also participates in the Global Council for Science and the Environment (GCSE) Communities of Practices, working groups for peer-to-peer mentorship to advance sustainability in areas of education, infrastructure and research.
