APC fund
A brief description of the open access APC fund:
Dalhousie does not have an author fund to directly cover the cost associated with Author Processing Charges (APCs). However, the team from Dalhousie Libraries, often as part of a Canadian consortium (CRKN - the Canadian Research Knowledge Network) has negotiated transformative agreements that include discounts or waivers of APC charges. Please see the table below.
The following Dalhousie memberships and discounts are currently available. Please use your Dalhousie email address when submitting. Never assume that a discount will be automatically applied. Always check with the publisher to confirm the discount.

Open access journal hosting
A brief description of the open access journal hosting services:
Yes, we provide hosting services for Open Journal Systems (OJS). The Dalhousie University Libraries Journal Hosting Service provides a digital publishing option to the university community using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) online journal production software (a collaborative, open source software project maintained by the Public Knowledge Project).
The Libraries handle the initial set-up of journals, answer questions about how to use the software, and can make recommendations about how to implement the journal. The journal owners are responsible for publishing content, managing subscribers, and customizing the design of the journal.
