Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes

Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
100

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

The quantitative data for this study were collected using both a self-administered paper questionnaire, as well as an online survey. All Dalhousie employees were given the option to complete the survey online or on paper. Prior to the distribution of the survey, employees were informed about the study and its objectives, and were asked for their co-operation. We had a 42% response rate to our 2019 workplace survey. We provide snapshots of results to leaders in all Faculties and large administrative departments and used the results to develop our next Workplace Wellness Strategy (2021-2024).

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:

Departments are briefed on the findings and action is taken if appropriate. The HR department uses the finding to improve the HR techniques and available opportunities throughout all departments.
