The Office of Sustainability runs sessions to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills leading to more sustainability-related behaviors in the workplace. Topics vary depending on request from departments (ex. waste management; Tips at work and at home)
The Dalhousie Bike Center offers educational programs in bike safety and maintenance. This is open to all staff and faculty.
The annual Office of Sustainability celebration provides a forum where employees are informed of sustainability projects carried out in the previous year, given updates on upcoming initiatives, and provided an opportunity for open discuss and questions.
Green Building Education: The Office of Sustainability works with Facilities Management staff and Canada Green Building Council and the local chapter to provide webinars, workshops and access to the local green building conference. Each year professional development is organized on topics such as LEED, solar PV, and other green building topics. Dalhousie this year became a gold sponsor of the Atlantic Chapter of the Canada Green Building Conference for participation as many project managers are LEED accredited professionals where annual training is supported.

Employees working in the sustainability field on campus are reimbursed for training and presentation opportunities at regional, national, and international sustainability related conferences and programs. Some examples include participation in AASHE conferences, Canada Green Building Conference, various energy and sustainable building conferences and symposiums, along with a wide variety of topics such as organic agriculture, sustainable food systems, sustainable building, environmental engineering, clean tech, water, etc.
