Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

The number of students partaking in community service was determined through use of both the undergraduate and graduate academic calendars. These were used to determine community volunteering that is done through certain academic courses.

Student societies at Dalhousie were also included in this count. Dalhousie has 44 student run societies that fall under the classification of 'Charity/Volunteer.' Each student involved volunteers approximately 8 hours of their time over the course of the year, sometimes more.

It's worth noting that Dalhousie University does not officially keep record of students who volunteer on their own time outside of the University. In reality, the number of students engaged in community service is likely much higher.
