A brief description of the policies and/or programs:
Strategies for avoiding business and commuting travel include conference calls, webinars, and video conferencing. Through Instructional Media Services employees can borrow laptops with Skype software and telephone conference phones. Commercial Conference Call Services such as Aliant and Mercuri Teleconferencing can be purchased by Dalhousie units.
Dalhousie through Integrated Learning Online (ILO) offers webinar and voice conference software from Wimba, Inc. for use by employees and for class use with students. Wimba can be used to organize webinars and meetings which include audio, slides, a white board, and video.
