A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:
Former Creighton University President Fr. John Schlegel, SJ, signed the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) in 2010. Creighton conducted our first baseline GHG assessment for that fiscal year.

Number of employees resident on-site | 15 | 14 |
Number of other individuals resident on-site | 11 | 0 |
Total full-time equivalent student enrollment | 8,732 | 6,840.20 |
Full-time equivalent of employees | 2,033 | 2,746 |
Full-time equivalent of students enrolled exclusively in distance education | 2,096 | 405.74 |

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:
Reduce scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas emissions by 50% over a 2010 baseline by 2028, and that same year
publish concrete steps to achieve carbon neutrality well before 2050
• Optimizing our campus-wide energy management systems;
• Removing existing fluorescent lights and installing LED lighting in three parking garages and two buildings;
• Retro-commissioning Harper Center to optimize energy usage for the Building Automation System and the HVAC system;
• Insulating piping and other mechanical equipment to reduce heat energy loss;
• Upgrading 40 science labs in Rigge to better manage air conditioning;
• Evaluating building operations and energy performance across 11 different buildings to identify energy efficiency opportunities;
• Implementing a Peak Energy Savings Program to reduce electricity demand and to create a culture of energy conservation at Creighton;
• Replacing 11 bio-safety cabinets (BSC) with zero-exhaust BSCs;
• Replacing existing energy valves to better control flow of chilled water and;
• Recommissioning Champion Center’s HVAC and Building Controls.
