A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
Incident reporting is done online through Cority an EHS software subscription. Our incident reporting system enable us to report, investigate, and trend the following incident types: Injury Illness and Exposure Incidents, Environmental Incidents, Motor Vehicle Accidents, and Injury-Free Incidents. Our employees are trained to report incidents to their supervisor immediately and to Cornell’s Cority incident reporting portal within 24 hours of any incident. Then supervisors and EHS professionals are required to investigate and update the incident report with their incident specifics, findings, and changes in treatment. The system enables investigators to develop and assign findings and actions. All reported injury illness and exposure incident cases are closed by EHS staff after a follow up has been completed with the injured person.
To trend incident data Cority has a robust business intelligence tool for developing reports and dashboards for all campus members to view.
