A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The Cornell Onboarding Center is a "one-stop" in-person and virtual service for a new Cornell employee's first day on the job to conduct the business of becoming a Cornell employee. This allows new employees to complete required documentation; activate a Cornell NetID and email account; receive a staff photo ID; select parking and transportation options; review benefits information; and enter personal data into the university's database, thus eliminating the complexity of coming to campus multiple times (or at all!) and stopping at the various locations on campus. Sustainability is referenced in the Get to Know Cornell section of the Staff and Faculty resource documents made available to new hires in the Center. The welcome message from Cornell's Vice President for Human Resources includes our university Core Values which incorporate the pillars of sustainability.

We incorporate sustainability into our new Wellbeing Model for the University. https://hr.cornell.edu/wellbeing-perks/seven-dimensions-wellbeing Click on the “environmental” tab at the top it will show all the resources we’ve compiled in one place to help support more sustainable practices on campus. New hires receive information about the Employee Wellbeing at Cornell model and related resources.
Sustainability has been incorporated in Cornell Human Resources Employee Wellbeing Update newsletter that goes out every other week to all existing employees.
