Lights Off Cornell

A brief description of the campaign(s):

Lights Off Cornell is an energy conservation initiative aiming to reduce wasted electricity at Cornell by engaging student volunteers in turning off lights after hours in buildings across campus. Many buildings on campus are unnecessarily lit at night. It has been estimated that the university could save up to $60,000 per year by simply turning these lights off, thus it is our mission to turn off as many un-needed lights on campus as possible in order to save energy, to save money, and to do our part to save the planet.
