Projects included in this square footage include the renovation of an existing building into new science space and bathroom renovations across multiple buildings. None of these projects were certified under a green building system, but they were designed and constructed in accordance with our college Sustainable Building Policy which states "The College will use Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) protocols or their equivalent. To ensure sustainable practices are followed, the design must meet the minimum of LEED Building Design and Construction (LEED BD+C) Silver certification standards or equivalent for all applicable new construction and major renovations."

Connecticut College has 3 LEED certified buildings/spaces that were completed outside of the reporting period for this credit. They are: New London Hall Science Center (LEED NC Gold 2013), Fitness Center (LEED NC Silver, 2012), and Bill Hall Classroom (LEED CI Silver, 2011).
