Environmental Model Committee
1. The Committee provides leadership in college-wide environmental planning and implementation by developing policies in support of campus-wide sustainability goals, initiating programs and overseeing community environmental education. The Committee advocates for college operations that function as models of sustainability by working on environmental initiatives with the appropriate administrative, faculty and student offices, committees, and groups.
2. The committee is specifically concerned with climate action planning for mitigation of carbon emissions and campus climate resiliency; the conservation of energy, water and other natural resources; the minimization of environmental pollution; and reducing the college’s ecological footprint.

A brief description of each sustainability office:
The Office of Sustainability was established in 2013 to direct the College's campus and community sustainability efforts and priorities. The mission of the Office of Sustainability is to advance the understanding and application of holistic sustainability through projects on campus and integration in the curriculum. The Office of Sustainability has one full time staff member (Assistant Director of Sustainability), a part-time Faculty Director, and paid and unpaid student interns.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The Office of Sustainability was established in 2013 to direct the College's campus and community sustainability efforts and priorities. The Office of Sustainability was directly involved in the creation of a new campus Strategic Plan, which includes sustainability as a goal. A Campus Sustainability Planning Task Force was launched in Fall 2017 to expand the overarching goals outlined in the Strategic Plan into the first long-term Campus Sustainability Plan for the college. Due to work by student interns and the Office, a revolving fund was established in 2015 to fund energy efficiency projects on campus. The Office of Sustainability coordinates the following ongoing programs: Give 'N Go (move out program), Office Swap, Camel Sprouts (nutrition education at the Children's Center), and the Lending Library.
