Optional Fields
In the university's Climate Action Plan, the following 20-year (2040) target was made: Full electrification of all transportation infrastructure at Concordia, including both vehicle fleets and university parking facilities. The five-year goal is to increase electric transport infrastructure (vehicles and parking) to 10% of total infrastructure.
The Concordia shuttle buses run on B20 biodiesel fuel (at 2-4% biodiesel) which produces fewer emissions than conventional diesel. As explained by the US Department of Energy, "B20 is a common blend because it represents a good balance of cost, emissions, cold-weather performance, materials compatibility, and ability to act as a solvent". https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/biodiesel_blends.html
There are a total of 4 charging stations for electric vehicles at Concordia. There are 2 Level 1 (120 V) charging stations located at the Loyola Campus. One is in the parking lot at the Sports Complex (P7) and the other is in the Terrebonne parking lot (P5). There are 2 level 1 (120V) charging stations at the downtown campus. They are both located in the LB Building Indoor Garage. There are a number of EV charging stations available through the Circuit Electrique program and accessible within close proximity to both Concordia Campuses. These may be found here: https://lecircuitelectrique.com/find-a-station
