Our students participate in surveys such as the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and the Canadian University Survey Consortium’s (CUSC) surveys which ask them to assess many facets of their university experience. For instance, students are asked about opportunities to be involved in campus life, how much they feel the university supports their overall wellbeing, their sense of personal safety on campus, and the quality of their interactions with faculty and staff.

The above-mentioned surveys inquire about students’ interactions with people of a different ethnicity/race, economic background, religion, and political views than their own. The surveys also ask about respondents’ ethnicity, disabilities, and parental educational attainment.

Every five years, under the Pay Equity Act, Concordia University conduct pay equity maintenance in its organization to determine if differences in compensation were recreated between predominantly female job classes and predominantly male job classes.
The most recent pay equity maintenance exercise has been completed for CUSSU (Concordia University Support Staff Union), CUPEU (Concordia University Professional Employee Union), ACUMAE (Association of Concordia University Management and Administrative Employees) and employees not governed by a collective or other agreement. Some salary gaps have been identified for certain female predominant positions.
