A brief description of the institution’s formal community partnership to advance sustainability:

As part of its effort to implement the Integrated Climate Commitment (run by Second Nature), Concordia decided to explore the creation of a resilience-focused task force in the city of Moorhead. Ken Foster, chair of the college's Sustainability Council, and Tim Hiller, Director of Community Engagement, began reaching out to key stakeholders in the Fall of 2018. This resulted in the formation of the Moorhead Community Resilience Task Force in early 2019. Concordia College has continued to lead the work of this task force, which now consists of 19 organizations. The college also applied for, and received, a grant from the Bush Foundation to fund the activities of the task force. Concordia is using its leadership of the task force to advance sustainability and resilience both in the community and at the college.
