In November 2011, President William Craft appointed ten members to the President's Sustainability Council. The President's Sustainability Council is an ongoing working group that has built a vision for sustainability that coincides with Concordia's mission. This vision involves instilling the significance of sustainability in operations, in teaching and learning, and in building relationships with neighbors beyond the campus. The council will continue to work with students, faculty and staff to further the work of sustainability.

The President's Sustainability Council is an ongoing working group that has built a vision for sustainability that coincides with Concordia's mission. The council will continue to work with students, faculty and staff to further the work of sustainability across campus. Along with the work of the sustainability coordinator, the President's Sustainability Council recently accomplished having President Craft sign the Climate Commitment. The Council will work with various departments across campus to create a climate action plan.

The Sustainability Coordinator serves as a key facilitator of sustainability-related activity on campus. The position will provide broad institutional leadership in the college’s efforts to infuse sustainability principles into all curricular and operational aspects of the college. The central focus of the position is on engaging with students, faculty, and staff to promote sustainability across campus and to facilitate worthy initiatives. The Sustainability Coordinator will work collaboratively with a diverse array of units of the college as Concordia moves towards achieving its Vision for Sustainability. This is an exciting position for someone who wants to use their talents to advance sustainability at a liberal arts college uniquely positioned on the border of Minnesota and North Dakota. Concordia has just over 2,500 students and is located in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area, a dynamic community of over 220,000 people surrounded by rich farmland and prairies.
