A brief description of how the physical campus plan or amendment includes sustainability:
Concordia College includes sustainability at a high level in the physical campus plan, as it is an important principle in the Campus Master Plan. "The purpose of the 2010 Campus Master Plan for Concordia College is to support and advance the mission of the College, by guiding near-term improvements and setting the direction for long-term developments on campus. The Campus Master Plan's proposals are gauged to enhance and preserve the unique character of the campus and to support changes, that will be requisite for the evolution of the College's programs and perpetuating Concordia's sustainability in every sense." The Campus Plan Theme is "Rising from a firm foundation," that stresses the importance of sustainable design principles in collaboration with preserving and maintaining the history and atmosphere of Concordia's campus. These important sustainable design principles include renewal projects to replace windows and update elevators, and capital projects involving total renovation in multiple buildings on campus. It also involves improving landscape design by featuring native species, and by simplifying and unifying plantings within campus spaces so that they better support collegial life.
