Jessica Prata, Assistant Vice President of Environmental Stewardship, presented at the AASHE Sustainability Professionals Retreat in 2017, in Pennsylvania. The retreat was designed for and by staff charged with leading institutional transformation for sustainability.

Participants were immersed with 40-50 peers for three full days dedicated to advancing their University's vision, energy, capabilities and support system as a sustainability change agent.

Jessica Prata, Assistant Vice President of Environmental Stewardship, serves as the co-chair of the Ivy+ Sustainability Consortium, and Allie Schwartz, Assistant Director of Planning and Outreach for Environmental Stewardship was the head of a working group for the consortium in 2016.

Through the Ivy+ consortium, Columbia has fostered many relationships with other peer institutions, which has helped to provide best-practices and tools in putting together sustainability reports, strategic planning and benchmarking GHG emissions.

In drafting the University's first strategic plan, Columbia looked toward peer institutions for best-practices, tools and words of advice from those who had already gone through the planning process.
