Campus Conservation Nationals

A brief description of the campaign(s):
Columbia participated in CCN in the Fall of 2010 and is registered again for the 2013 competition. Campus Conservation Nationals is a nationwide resource use reduction competition that challenges college and university campuses to achieve the greatest electricity and water use reductions during a 3-week period. The Campus Conservation Nationals will utilize Lucid Design Group's Building Dashboard®, provided for free for CCN participants during the competition.

CCN's goals are to: 1. Engage, educate, motivate, and empower students to conserve resources in their residences 2. Achieve measurable reductions in electricity and water use in the residences, and prevent the associated carbon dioxide emissions 3. Save money on utility bills 4. Foster a culture of conservation within campus communities 5. Participate in a program that enables students to teach themselves conservation behaviors that they can employ in the home and workplace in the future 6. Enable students to develop leadership and community organizing skills
