A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
Mines only has buildings LEED certified for design and construction, not operations and maintenance (O&M). However, Mines recently adopted a sustainable operations and maintenance program for 32 of its largest buildings through an Energy Savings Performance Contract with McKinstry. The program, called PowerED, optimizes 32 of the largest campus buildings for operation and maintenance and includes a behavior change element as well. Furthermore, Mines is working to formalize the institutional changes that this campaign has caused. This effort of formalizing the sustainable operations and maintenance norms put on by the powerED Campaign will take place over coming years.
