A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
The Green Chemistry Summer School, also known as the ACS Summer School on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Energy, is a graduate-level residential program hosted by Mines. It lasts exactly one week every summer and awards certificates at completion. Over that week, students attend presentations by experts in both green chemistry and sustainable energy, have group discussions about the sustainability challenges of the world, and work together on projects.
Topics include, but not limited to : a circular economy, fuel cells, solar cells, greener fossil fuels, green synthesis, sustainability in research, green chemistry in pharmaceuticals, sustainable systems and design and sustainability in business and entrepreneurship.
