CMC also has specific programs available in this subcategory, such as The Colorado Mountain Promise, COSI (Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative), No Barriers Fund, the Western Undergraduate Exchange program, and the 23+ Discount Program.

Colorado Mountain Promise: Colorado Mountain College believes every Coloradan deserves the opportunity to go to college. With the Colorado Mountain Promise, we will cover tuition for any Colorado resident whose family income is below $70,000. If you’re an independent student (typically over 24 years of age) we’ll cover your tuition if your household income is $50,000 or less.

COSI: The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative works to reduce barriers to postsecondary education by providing funding across the state for student scholarships and support services. Programs include Matching Student Scholarships, Community Partner Program, Back to Work, Finish What You Started, Fund My Future, and Second Chance Scholarship.

No Barriers Fund: The purpose of the CMC Foundation’s No Barriers Fund is to assist with unexpected or emergency financial barriers that prevent Colorado Mountain College students from completing their certificates or degrees.
Gifts from the No Barriers Fund are made available to qualified CMC student applicants year-round, based on funds available. Student applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by designated campus representatives including a campus Financial Aid Specialist.

The Western Undergraduate Exchange program provides opportunities for students to enroll in an out-of-state school in their region at in-state tuition rates. A limited number of these exchanges are available.

A brief description of notable policies or programs to support non-traditional students:
Fund Sueños (Dream Fund): Colorado Mountain College's Fund Sueños uses income-share agreements to make higher education more affordable for undocumented students and others who are not able to receive financial aid.

TRIO (SSS - Student Support Services): The Federal TRIO Programs are outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. They are administered, funded, and implemented by the United States Department of Education.

ASSET Program: Requires the institution to classify a student as an in-state student for tuition purposes if the student:

Either attended a public or private high school for one year immediately preceding the date the student graduated from a Colorado high school or was physically present in Colorado for at least one year immediately preceding the date the student successfully completed a high school equivalency examination in Colorado; and

Has been physically present in Colorado for at least 12 consecutive months prior to enrolling in an institution.
