Students in the class conduct research and propose implementation strategies that are facilitated by the Coordination Team toward implementation by diverse College departments and divisions. The SUS 4500 students and the STARS Coordination and Implementation team continually drive the institution toward increasing its sustainability. The Coordination and Implementation Team grew out of three years of student and faculty involvement in STARS reporting and recommendations efforts for SUS 4500.

For the student/faculty driven STARS reporting effort, faculty in the Sustainability Studies program teach students how to do AASHE STARS reporting and guide them in researching, developing, and presenting recommendations back to the College as a basis for sustainability-oriented actions. These recommendations are driven forward by the STARS Coordination and Implementation Team in consultation and collaboration with relevant groups and individuals at CMC.
