Sustainability Club boards - Institution-wide:

  • Multiple campuses host student-led sustainability clubs, with each location providing different informational boards geared toward sustainability to be used by the clubs. Boards can highlight topics such as composting and waste management, offer information on food resources and even recipes, and provide information about up-and-coming events and activities centered on sustainability concepts.

Campus information signage - Institution-wide:

  • Various campus locations have signage that highlights the sustainability efforts being undertaken. These range from highlighting energy conservation efforts and renewable energy generation to pointing out ways in which students can engage in more sustainable activities. Some signs direct students, employees, and visitors to electric car chargers and composting locations as well as highlight campus opportunities associated with reducing energy and water use.

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:

The Bear Park Permaculture Center:

  • Hosts a bilingual (English/Spanish) sign system that educates users about sustainable features of the site including food forest design and implementation, a hugelkultur swale that promotes water infiltration on site, permaculture guild formation, pollinator garden composition and benefits, and more. Students in the Writing for Sustainability class and student employees of Bear Park completed many of these signs. In spring 2024, a Capstone Research student in Sustainability Studies created phone-accessible audio accompaniments for many of the signs that are available through QR codes on the signs themselves.

Yes

Capstone Research: 

  • A Capstone Research student created in spring 2024 a green living guide for residence hall students at the Steamboat Springs campus. This guide is constructed in a way in which it can now be adapted to serve all residential campuses at CMC.
