Environmental Studies and Science
A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
The Environmental Studies and Science department at CC critically examines the complex interrelationships between humans and more-than-human nature. At the center of our interdisciplinary majors are the social and earth systems that are vital to the flourishing of all. In the course of study, we nurture students’ motivation to create a sustainable and more just world in the face of climate change and other environmental crises.
The program offers two integrated majors: Environmental Science and Environmental Studies. It also offers one Environmental Science Chemistry emphasis and an Environmental Studies Minor.

Environmental Studies Minor
A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration:
The Environmental Studies minor enables students to illustrate their investment in environmental issues while majoring in another field. Though this is an interdisciplinary minor, students choose an emphasis in environmental science, environmental social science, or environmental humanities.

Resource Systems in the American West
A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (2nd program):
A comprehensive approach to understanding basic resource systems and their interaction among themselves and with human organizations in Western America, including: land, energy, natural resources, recreation, and environment. Attention is given to the economic and public policy dimensions of understanding, managing, and preserving resource systems.
