Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
The 2022-2023 class schedule was used to compile the number of courses offered. To identify sustainability courses, the class descriptions were carefully reviewed for content and topics. Definitions of sustainability courses were taken from Sustainability Focused or Sustainability-related definitions for Colorado College, which were designed to be in line with STARS course designations. Sustainability-related courses meet one or two of the sustainability learning objectives. Sustainability-focused courses meet three or more of the sustainability learning objectives. Objectives can be found at https://www.coloradocollege.edu/offices/sustainability/topics/academics1.html Courses that are not counted towards include: Adjunct Courses Extended Format Half Block Courses Courses Under 1.0 Credit Art Courses Dedicated to Performance, Technique or Composition Physical Education Courses that are Activity-Based Individually-Directed Courses (Thesis, Practicum, & Ind. Study) Non-Departmental Studies (15/16/N)
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
To streamline the data, CC has elected to count multiple course offerings (those that have the same Course Title & Level #) within a department/program as a single course. If a course is cross-listed in two or more departments, that course is then counted in all departments listed towards the total. The reasoning behind this is that the total # of courses offered (seen in sheet: Extra Information) does not account for cross-listed courses in the total count for # of courses offered during the academic year.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Using the guidelines of STARS, the OoS reviews courses for the upcoming academic year every 3 years and designates courses based on course description. The data used this year is from the course designation process during summer 2022, for the upcoming year AC22-23/FY23, and will be used for the next 2 1/2 years, until a new designation is required. NOTE: There is a discrepancy between the # of departments listed in Pre-5 and AC-1. Due to the movement & addition of programs within the college since the designation in FY23.
