A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

New Student Orientation includes Campus Sustainability Tours guided by Office of Sustainability staff and upperclassmen volunteers.

During the New Student Orientation trips, each group's student leaders lead a three hour discussion on "sense of place." In this discussion, many sustainability related topics are discussed. Student leaders address the indigenous culture specific to the area that their trips take place in. The student leaders teach "Leave No Trace" principles and teaches each student what it means to live sustainably in their new community and environment.
