Greater Williamsburg Area Park Rx

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Greater Williamsburg Area Park Rx (GWA Park Rx) partners with healthcare providers, providing them training and tools to ‘prescribe’ their patients time in area parks to enhance mental and physical health, and treat and prevent lifestyle driven illnesses. Our program launched a new initiative October 2016, where trained Student Park Ambassadors prescribe time outdoors to their peers on the William & Mary campus. Our user interface estimates that in the last three months 24 people have been prescribed time in local parks using our program, and with our new expansion on campus, this is expected to grow rapidly.
