Does the institution donate surplus food to a food redistribution program on at least a monthly basis when its dining services are operational?:
Yes

Do the institution’s dining services divert pre-consumer food waste from disposal for processing and use as animal feed, compost, and/or biofuel?:
Yes

Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the institution’s pre-consumer food waste diversion program:

Kimball Main Dining Hall & Kimball Food Court recycle or compost 100% of all waste, including per-consumer waste. https://www.holycross.edu/campus-life/dining/commitment-sustainability


Do the institution’s dining services divert post-consumer food waste from disposal for processing and use as animal feed, compost, and/or biofuel?:
Yes

Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the institution’s post-consumer food waste diversion program:

Kimball Main Dining Hall & Kimball Food Court recycle or compost 100% of all waste, including all post-consumer waste. Any waste that cannot be recycled or composted is burned for energy. In the first year of this initiative 110 tons of food waste that would have otherwise been thrown in a landfill was composted. Do the institution’s dining services track and assess their food and organic materials management efforts on at least an annual basis to inform ongoing improvements?:
Yes

Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the institution’s food and organic materials management tracking and assessment initiatives:

Food waste volume is tracked across all campus composting locations, both monthly according to reports from our compost hauler, and also weekly in our main dinig hall location to measure the impact throughout the semester and year.
