A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

In January 2017, we performed a commuter survey of all COA community members to obtain their travel history for the previous year. The estimates above regarding commuting are based on this survey, shuttle ridership and analysis of an informal committee comprised of faculty, staff and students. We believe this is a good representation of modes of commuting.
