A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
CLC has incorporated water conservation and management into its Sustainability Plan. The Science and Engineering Building received LEED Platinum in 2018, for features that include rainwater catchment and use in flushing toilets, water conserving fixtures and also low-mow turf grass that needs less irrigation and maintenance. CLC has green infrastructure with its bioswales in four parking lots and extent of native landscaping. Bioswales and landscaping are referenced in the college's draft Landscape Management Plan.

Where possible, the college will incorporate green infrastructure to manage stormwater runoff from its parking lots and other drainage areas. CLC seeks to implement sustainable landscaping in order to enhance infiltration of water, reduce stormwater flow, and improve the quality of water entering our lake, ponds, and wetlands.

The attached draft Landscape Management Plan is awaiting a couple of items regarding maintenance staffing recommendations and approval from the Environmental Action Committee, Operations and Facilities Commission and the Sustainability Council.
