The Community Partners for Sustainability in Lake County seeks to promote environmental resilience, social responsibility, and economic vitality.
Given our common need for finite natural resources, sustainability is the practice of seeking to thrive in a way that does not diminish future generations’ ability to flourish.
Representatives from business, non-profits, education, local government, and the community seek to accelerate sustainability initiatives across Lake County through education, the sharing of best practices, undertaking collaborative efforts, fostering civic engagement, disseminating information, and celebrating successes.

The Lake County Green is an annual conference hosted by the College of Lake County in collaboration with community partners such as Lake County government. The Lake County Green has evolved into a series of smaller events to diversify our attendance and be more inclusive. In the fall of 2018, CLC hosted Solar Week with a series of smaller events targeted at different audiences who might not have attended a full day event.

Each year in the first week of March, the One Earth Film Festival runs across the Chicagoland area. CLC has been serving as a partner in this festival for the past 4 years, paying to participate, hosting films, bringing in facilitators, inviting partner groups to host activity tables and more. This year the festival has arranged for the filmmaker Mat Hames to do a video Q&A with the audience after we show the film.
