Staff developed a presentation and games to make the process more engaging. Attendees can win reusable coffee mugs or lunch containers from the food service vendor. We bring in a worm farm to show attendees what it looks and smells like to have worms compost food scraps. We talk about the benefits of worm castings for gardens.

Sustainability is woven into the employee development and training portion of the annual evaluation form. The text below is taken directly from the evaluation. Staff get several opportunities to cite difference training and development goals:

Section IV. Employee Development/Training:
Identify training and development activities for the upcoming evaluation period. Includes training and development related to student success, diversity, sustainability, and wellness.

Additional Note: Every employee is required to participate in at least two events related to student success (1), diversity(2), sustainability(3), wellness connected(4) or governance with CLC(5), and professional credentials/certifications/qualifications(6). This may include committee participation, seminars, speakers on campus, etc. Managers are to ensure their direct reports accomplish this goal. Please list the name of the training and then circle the goal it impacts.
