Has the institution engaged in a structured assessment process during the previous three years to improve diversity, equity and inclusion on campus?:
Yes
A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
In fall 2015, a student diversity survey was developed by the Dean of Student Life and the Diversity Commission with assistance from the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning and Research. Similar to an employee diversity survey that was conducted in fall 2013, the student survey was intended to capture: student perceptions of diversity efforts at the college; information about students’ experiences with discrimination, harassment, and bullying at CLC; and demographic information that is not available in the student information system. The survey consisted of approximately 65 items that were modeled after the previous employee diversity survey and several external sources or were developed in-house to capture information of specific interest to the college. During development, the survey was pretested with a small group of students to ensure the language was understandable, the length was manageable, and response options were complete.
